The Elevate gets the tried and tested 121PS 1.5-litre petrol engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT

Honda Cars India has revealed the Elevate’s fuel efficiency figures ahead of its launch in September 2023. And in a world where petrol is really expensive, ‘kitna deti hai’ really matters! So how does the Elevate stack up in its segment in terms of its claimed fuel efficiency figures?. Let’s find out.

But first things first, the Honda Elevate is offered only with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. So to keep things fair, we’ll be comparing it with only the base-spec petrol engine of its rivals and not the larger turbo-petrol or strong-hybrid powertrains. Here’s how the Elevate stacks up against its rivals:

  • The Honda Elevate, sadly, is the least fuel efficient of the lot.
  • In typical Maruti fashion, the Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder (same engine) are the most fuel efficient ones, though they offer the least performance.

  • The Kushaq and Taigun are the only ones to get turbo-petrol engines here and both are the second-most fuel efficient offerings here.

  • The Creta and Seltos occupy the middle ground of sorts here, with the Kia narrowly beating the Hyundai’s last known claimed numbers.

  • However, it is worth noting that most models fall short of their claimed figures in real-world conditions and the Honda SUV may redeem itself by delivering those numbers when we get to put it through our own fuel efficiency tests.

.

So the Elevate might be the least fuel-efficient of the lot. But how is it to drive? You can find our impressions in our in-depth first drive review. Prices are expected to start from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in contention with the rivals mentioned above.
