Keeway recently introduced the Benda V302C cruiser in India, and while it does not have any natural rivals in the market, the Yezdi Roadster and Royal Enfield Meteor 350 come pretty close. Does the V302C pack enough ammunition on paper to take the fight to its established rivals? Let’s find out.

The Keeway V302C packs a V-twin motor and a belt drive system, both of which are uncommon in this segment. However its power output still falls slightly short of the Yezdi Roadster’s, which features the most powerful engine, despite having one less cylinder. In terms of torque figures, the Keeway cruiser falls short when compared to the other two.
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 however makes up for its large power deficit, with torque available at much lower in the powerband when compared to the Roadster and V302C.

In terms of underpinnings, all three bikes are quite evenly stacked in terms of frame, suspension and brakes. However, the Keeway V302C features smaller wheels and much chunkier tyres, in line with its bobber aesthetics. This should help the V302C in better handling and directional changes, along with more cornering confidence. The larger 19-inch front of the Meteor 350 ensures better straight line stability and also helps in tackling bumps with ease.

Since the Yezdi Roadster and Keeway V302C have a larger wheelbase than the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, they can be a bit cumbersome while maneuvering in urban traffic. However, as these bikes are meant for the open road, the Enfield and Keeway bikes are equipped with a 2.5-litre larger fuel tank which should increase their cruising range.
The V302C’s lower seat height and kerb weight, despite packing one extra cylinder, comes as a more friendly package for shorter riders compared to the other two bikes. However, it also has the lowest ground clearance, which may make for tricky riding, especially in the city.
On the feature front, the Meteor 350 is available with an optional tripper pod, which offers Bluetooth connectivity along with turn-by-turn navigation. The Yezdi Roadster and Keeway V302C miss out on any connectivity features.
A few variants of the Yezdi and Enfield get a transparent windscreen and backrest for added comfort, while the Keeway misses out on this too. What the Keeway does get is all-LED lighting, similar to the Yezdi. The Enfield however only gets a halogen headlight, bulb indicator and a LED headlight.

This is where the Keeway V302C is not as closely stacked as the others, as it commands a huge premium while not offering a large enough differentiator. The Yezdi Roadster costs slightly less and also packs more power than the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. And if you can oversee the lack of Bluetooth connectivity and navigation, then the Yezdi Roadster makes for a sensible choice on paper.
