2024 Mahindra Thar 5-door, Check Out Its Unique Tail Lamp Design

The Mahindra Thar 5-door is all set to be introduced in the Indian market in 2024. And automotive paparazzi are not wasting any time to capture the model, which is currently being tested. Latest spy shots of the Thar 5-door have shown that the popular off-roader will get a unique tail lamp design to stand out from the Thar 3-door. 

The tail lamps’ assembly is the same rectangular units like the current car. But the insignia in it is different, where it now gets a slimmer outer light signature. Also, the brake lamps are now LEDs, suggesting that these could be full-LED units. Apart from that, the Thar 5-door also gets certain design elements that are unique over the 3-door model, which you can find in this story. 

On the inside,  the Thar 5-door is expected to get a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and steering wheel from the Mahindra Scorpio N. Also, it’s expected to get a different colour scheme to stand out from the three-door model. The Thar will also get an important feature which we all love: a sunroof. 

In terms of features, the 2024 Mahindra Thar is expected to get new additions such as dual-zone climate control and six airbags. Bits such as cruise control, steering mounted audio controls, keyless entry and a multi-info display should be carried forward. And apart from six airbags, its safety kit should carry on with electronic stability control and tyre pressure monitoring system.

The Thar 5-door will likely inherit the powertrains from smaller three-door models, including the 150PS 2-litre turbo-petrol and 132PS 2.2-litre diesel engines, with potential power enhancements. It is likely to get both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations. When it comes to transmission choices, you can expect both the reliable six-speed manual and the convenient six-speed torque converter automatic.

As mentioned above, the Thar 5-door will go on sale in 2024 and we suspect its prices to start around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, while locking horns with the Force Gurkha 5-door.
