UPDATE: Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2024 Swift in India At Rs 6.49 Lakh
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift has started arriving at dealerships ahead of its price announcement on May 9. While previous images of the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift were of the fully loaded top-end variant, this time around, pictures of the mid-spec VXI variant have surfaced online. Let’s check out what this variant packs:
On the outside, the mid-spec Swift gets the large grille that dominates the face, flanked by the restyled projector headlights (likely to be halogen). Keen-eyed viewers will notice the lack of DRLs, which have been replaced by a chrome strip and if you look below, there are no fog lamps as well.
In profile, this particular variant sits on 14-inch steel wheels, which will get a set of plastic covers. The rear looks similar to the top-end model with its new LED tail lamps. But look closely and you’ll notice that it doesn’t get a rear washer and wiper.
Inside, the new-gen 2024 Swift’s dashboard layout is similar to the top-end model, but misses out on the contrasting silver bits. Also, this being a mid-spec variant, obviously, doesn’t get the niceties, but still packs all the essentials.
Highlight features in the Swift VXI include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, steering-mounted audio controls, all four power windows, remote locking, and analogue dials with a multi-info display.

A leaked document has confirmed that the Swift will get six airbags as standard. Apart from that, it gets ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and electronic stability control.
Underneath the hood, the 2024 Swift will get the new 82PS 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, replacing the 90PS four-cylinder unit of the outgoing car. It will be offered with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. And once again, as per a leaked document, the new Swift boasts a claimed mileage of 25.72kmpl.
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to be priced slightly higher than the outgoing model, which retailed from Rs 6.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to lock horns with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and will be a hatchback alternative to the Tata Punch, Renault Triber and Nissan Magnite.
