“You’ve heard about it. You will certainly hear it coming. V12 Vantage. It’s not just a Limited Edition, it’s a Final Edition. Returning in 2022.”
The message from Aston Martin’s latest press release was quite straightforward. It’s the final hurrah to the Vantage V12, and Aston is brewing a befitting farewell.
The latest teaser note is also accompanied by the roar of the V12 motor. While technicalities are still under wraps, it should borrow the DB11’s and DBS’ 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, both paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This motor, in its top specification, puts out a blistering 715PS and can take the DBS from 0-100kmph in just 3.4 seconds.
That said, chances of seeing this engine paired to a manual ’box are negligible, as Aston has clearly said the stick shifter will be phased out after the 2021 Vantage V8.
Sadly, we don’t have any other details about the Vantage V12 on hand. But you can expect the last batch of cars to have unique design touches to ensure they stand out. Handling prowess is also expected to be equal or even better than the Vantage V8. After all, with more power comes more aggression, right.

One of the last icons of the Vantage will be available for grabs in 2022. And since it’ll be available in limited numbers, we urge you to be quick once bookings open.
