Ducati’s Flagship Streetfighter Is India-bound

Ducati India has teased the Streetfighter V4 SP on its social media handles. The Italian marque had earlier committed to launch as many as 11 motorcycles in our market this year, and looks like the top-shelf hypernaked will debut next month, following the entry of the Scrambler 800 Urban Motard.

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP is essentially the Panigale V4 sans its fairing. So, you get all the goodies from the track scorcher, including the BST carbon fibre rims, Brembo Stylema R callipers, STM-EVO SBK dry clutch, carbon fibre front mudguard, lithium-ion battery and the Rizoma billet aluminium adjustable footpegs as standard. All the upgrades have made the Streetfighter V4 SP 3kg lighter than the standard model and 1kg than the ‘S’ variant. And of course, as has been the tradition, the SP comes draped in the sinister ‘Winter Test’ livery with blacked-out body panels, a brushed aluminium fuel tank and some red accents to make it look even more aggressive.

There are no changes to the 1103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 powerhouse and continues to belt out 208PS and 123Nm. However, with the optional Akrapovic full-system exhaust, the engine can churn 220PS and also sheds 6kg, thanks to the lighter exhaust system.

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP will arrive in limited numbers in India, and just like with the India-spec Panigale V4 SP, the Italian bikemaker is likely to skip the carbon fibre rims and the Stylema R callipers in favour of magnesium alloy wheel and Stylema units.

The Panigale V4 SP demanded an eye-watering Rs 36.07 lakh, which is over Rs 8 lakh more than the Panigale V4 S. So, considering that the Streetfighter V4 S is available at Rs 24.24 lakh, we expect the upcoming SP variant to be pegged at Rs 32 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
