Bajaj Chetak 3503 spotted
Gets slightly lower-spec hardware
Could be priced at Rs 1,10,000 (ex-showroom)
The upcoming Bajaj Chetak 3503 was recently spotted. On closer inspection of the spy shots, we can see evident cost cutting measures to make it more affordable than the current variants. This 3503 is going to be the base variant of the Chetak series.
In terms of the design, the Bajaj Chetak 3503 looks similar to the other Chetak 35 Series e-scooters. . In the spy shots, we get to see normal black coloured side view mirrors rather than the body coloured ones. Another major change is that the 3503 gets basic black plastics on the inner side of the front apron. The higher-spec variants get a body coloured inner apron. The 3503 gets basic cubby holes unlike the closed glovebox on the higher spec variant.
This 3503 version also gets a basic round LCD screen and not the coloured-TFT display. This display will most likely be able to show all the basic information like speed, battery percentage, time, ride modes, charging time and trip info. It is highly unlikely that it will get the smartphone connectivity for navigation or SMS/call alerts. This 3503 also gets the same all LED light setup.
The most evident cost cutting measure is the introduction of a drum brake setup for both front and rear. It also gets a more basic looking design for the alloy wheels. The higher spec variant of the Bajaj Chetak supports keyless operation but in the spy shots of the 3503 we can see a key on the inner side of the front apron.
The Bajaj Chetak 3503 is expected to be launched at a price of Rs 1,10,000 (ex-showroom). If launched at this price point the Chetak will definitely cater to more customers.
