The electric bike has undergone a substantial cosmetic update
[UPDATE: Tork Motors has launched the Kratos in India at Rs 1.32 lakh onwards. More about the specifications, availability and pricing in our launch story]

We haven’t had much to hear from Tork Motors for quite some time. The electric startup who was touted to boom in this electric era has not quite made any impact in the market yet. The last we saw of them was in 2019, when it had opened up a fast charging station in Pune. Two years on, we think the brand is readying itself for a proper launch next year with the T6X electric bike.

There’s been quite a lot of development from the last time we spotted the T6X, which was in January 2019. Since then, Tork has sort of completely re-engineered the bike, especially its foundations and aesthetics. It looks like a proper near production-ready motorcycle. The bodywork looks far sharper and sleeker than the bike we spotted two years ago. The tank extensions are more pronounced and there’s a small shroud on both sides of the bike to mimic the look of a radiator guard.

No exposed trellis subframe to be seen here. Tork has covered it up with neat looking plastic panels. The T6X now gets a split seat design with split grab rails for the pillion.

All-LED lighting has been there right from the start. What’s different now is the actual headlamp and tail light units. These have been better integrated with the bike’s sporty design language. The headlight is quite reminiscent of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200’s face, though.

Motor and battery details are scarce at the moment. However, Tork did share an Instagram post nearly a month ago showcasing a new electric motor with Axial Flux Technology and its advantages. Basically, the company claims that its motor has an efficiency rating of anywhere between 90-96 percent, almost 5-6 percent better than a traditional motor. Tork claims that this will have a direct impact in reducing battery sizes and longevity without compromising on the range on offer.

The alloys spotted on the new test mule are also quite different. The rims have a Y-spoke look, are slimmer and seem to come shod with MRF Nylogrip Zapper tyres. The telescopic fork, tubular swingarm and monoshock appear to be the same as the older bike.

We expect 2022 to finally be the year Tork delivers and gives us an electric bike that is not only sporty but also commuting friendly. Prices for the bike are expected to be around the Rs 1.5 lakh mark, with FAME 2 and other subsidies to hopefully make it more affordable.
