The facelifted Hyundai Venue, expected to be launched later this year, has been spotted testing on our shores for the first time. It will be the first midlife update for Hyundai’s sub-4 metre SUV, and all the changes are expected to be limited to cosmetics and features.
Starting with the design, the facelifted SUV will feature a revised grille that is similar to the updated Creta and new Tucson. The split headlamps seem to be unchanged, though. New dual-tone alloy wheels are the only change to the side, while the rear end gets new split-LED tail lamps with iONIQ5-like rectangular elements.
Inside, we suspect the facelifted Venue will feature 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment and digitised driver’s display as seen in the i20. Apart from that, Hyundai could tinker around with the interior colour scheme and upholstery to keep things fresh.

Other new features likely to be part of the package include ventilated front seats and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. Creature comforts like a wireless phone charger, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, and a cooled glove box should be retained.
Passenger safety should be taken care of by up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Venue should retain the 83PS 1.2-litre petrol, 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol, and 100PS 1.5-litre diesel engines. Like the Sonet, Hyundai could offer the diesel-automatic powertrain by plonking in the more powerful 115PS 1.5-litre diesel engine, paired with a 6-speed torque converter.

The facelifted Hyundai is likely to be priced from Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, and the upcoming next-gen Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
