The Korean marque had earlier said that the India-spec facelifted SUV will go on sale in 2024 with design touches exclusive to our market

  • Facelifted Hyundai Creta spotted testing in India.
  • India-spec model to get different design elements than the one offered abroad.
  • Spotted with reprofiled DRLs, a different grille, and Alcazar’s 18-inch alloys.
  • Likely to get fully digital driver’s display, ADAS, and heated front seats.
  • 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine to make its presence felt.

Hyundai India has begun testing the facelifted Creta ahead of its debut in 2024. The facelifted Creta spotted on our shores sported different design elements than the international model. That’s because the Korean marque had earlier confirmed that the India-spec SUV will have bespoke design touches

So what’s different? Spotting all the design changes was difficult, as the test mule was draped in heavy camouflage. Regardless, we could make out the reprofiled LED DRLs and a revised grille design. The headlights also seem a tad different than what’s offered in the international market.

The facelifted SUV was also riding on the Alcazar’s 18-inch wheels, which leads us to speculate it could get a larger set of alloys. Currently, the Creta rolls on 17-inch rims. Though the rear of the SUV has been snapped, we couldn’t make out the design changes due to the camo. But we suspect it could get revised tail lamps and a tweaked bumper.

On the features front, the Creta could get a revised features list, including a fully digital driver’s display from the Alcazar, ADAS from the 2023 Verna, a 360-degree camera, and heated front seats as well. Bits such as the panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat, drive and traction modes, six airbags, and electronic stability control should be retained.

Another update for the Hyundai Creta will be the addition of a 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. It will be sold alongside the existing 115PS 1.5-litre petrol and 116PS 1.5-litre diesel units. All of these engines should be teamed with the existing manual and automatic transmission options.

Hyundai earlier said the facelifted Creta will go on sale in India in 2024. And it will command a significant premium over the current model, prices for which start from Rs 10.87 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, and VW Taigun, as well as the upcoming 2023 Kia Seltos, Citroen C3 Aircross and Honda Elevate.
