It’s safe to say that the updated Nexon looks thoroughly modern and upmarket with its new set of connected tail lamps

  • 2023 Tata Nexon facelift spotted undisguised for the first time.
  • Gets new connected LED tail lamps and a tweaked rear bumper.
  • Up front, the Nexon gets a Curvv-influenced fascia with split LED headlamps.
  • New features include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, fully digital driver’s display and up to six airbags.
  • Expected to get Tata’s 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine, teamed with a DCT.
  • Will go on sale in the upcoming festive season.

The 2023 Tata Nexon facelift has been spotted undisguised for the first time ahead of its festive season launch. The particular model seen is the ICE version, distinguished by the presence of an exhaust pipe. It’s safe to say that Tata has done a good job in updating the model as it looks modern and premium.

The picture gives us a glimpse into the Nexon’s heavily revised rear-end, featuring new connected LED tail lamps with a sharper X-motif. Earlier spy shots have confirmed the Nexon will get Audi-like dynamic turn indicators. The reverse lamp has now been shifted down to the bumper, which gets a skid plate for a macho look.

Previously, the Nexon’s front-end had also been spied undisguised, revealing its Curvv-like fascia with new DRLs and LED headlamps. You can check it out here in this report

The Curvv influence is carried forward on the inside, where the two-spoke steering wheel and touch-based climate controls can be spotted. Other new touches include the presence of Land Rover-style gear lever for the automatic model, a fully digital driver’s display and Tata’s larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Its safety could also see a big boost with the presence of six airbags.

Underneath the hood, the Nexon is expected to get the carmaker’s 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine, teamed with a 6-speed DCT with paddle shifters. Its existing 1.5-litre diesel engine and electric powertrains should be carried forward unchanged.

As mentioned earlier, Tata will launch the heavily revised Nexon in the upcoming festive season. And we suspect it to command a premium over the current model, priced at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite and upcoming Mahindra XUV300 facelift.
