- If you want more power then you may go for turbo engines, on the other hand, the naturally aspirated engines would be best suited for city commutes and good enough for calm driving. However, you may feel the power lag on highways and when sudden acceleration is required. The Duster Turbo is powered by a 1330cc four-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes a healthy 156PS of power and 254Nm of torque, a huge jump over the 1.5-litre motor (106PS/142Nm). The first thing that you notice as soon as you start driving the Duster Turbo is just how refined this motor is. You barely hear it at idle and save for some vibrations through the steering and pedals, it is a soothing place to be in. Being turbocharged you do get some throttle lag below 1600rpm but even here this engine doesn’t feel dead and has enough grunt to pull forward without much hesitation. However, this motor does tend to stall easily if you release the clutch a bit too quickly, something you have to keep in mind in stop-go traffic. Thankfully, because the Turbo version comes with a start-stop system this issue is somewhat negated. - No, Renault offers the Duster with two engine options: a 106PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit, mated to a 5-speed manual, and a 156PS 1.3-litre turbo-petrol motor paired to a 6-speed manual and CVT gearbox.
- Since both cars are from different segments, selecting one would depend on certain factors such as your budget, preference of the segment, features required, etc. DCT is a dual-clutch it has two different clutches which operate two sets of gear ratios, one odd and the other even. When driving around, a computer pre-selects what it feels will be the next required gear using the second clutch, and thus, at the time of the gear shift, the difference between the two is negligible whereas CVT is the most different kind of transmission on this list as they don’t have actual gears. They instead work on a belt-driven system that is suspended off two pulleys. These pulleys can change their radii to mimic any kind of gear ratio, meaning they are capable of offering infinitely different gear ratios. A transmission control unit decides what gear ratios to use depending on your throttle input, speed, incline, and other factors. The Seltos is impressed us So much that all we could complain about was a lack of under-thigh support and the rather stiff ride quality. GTX Plus DCT is fun to drive and feature-loaded too. And more than anything its pricing makes it one of the hottest picks in the segment On the other hand, the Duster has a smooth engine, an easygoing gearbox, and epic ride quality on its side. The new 156PS turbo petrol makes this a very interesting proposition for the enthusiast. It's still a great looker with an updated interior along with a very robust mechanical package. Moreover, we would suggest you take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealer.. Read more -Kia Seltos vs Renault Duster.
