Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire
It’s shorter and a lot more potent as well. The all new Swift was followed by its booted sibling the DZire almost immediately. Design just like before is petty much a love or hate affair and again just like before it’s just as practical and as much a hoot to drive. The petrol gets variable valve timing and the diesel has been tweaked too making it more appealing than its predecessor. Practical, adequately spacious and an aftersales service network like none other the DZire is the car to beat in this segment.
Tata Indigo Manza
Thanks to its size, the Manza feels like a class above this segment, however, thanks to Tata’s amazing pricing strategy, you get a lot of car for a lot less money. The Manza has loads of space, comes loaded with all the features one could ask for and drives pretty well too, thanks to the Quadrajet mill. Its extremely fuel efficient as well. Value for money has always been Tata’s USP and the Manza is no different.
Toyota Etios
If it’s a petrol you are looking for none in the segment offer as much ‘waku-doki’( fun in Toyota speak) as this Toyota. However Toyota has diesel as well considering the skyrocketing petrol prices. It’s not the prettiest to look at but neither are its rivals and as a result, the Etios fits right in this segment. One of the most spacious in its segment, the Etios does lose out a bit when it comes to the design of its interiors but talk practicality and this Jap is right on top. The petrol motor is an absolute bomb and that kind of performance is quite surprising in this segment. Reliable and one of the best after sales network, the Etios is an extremely convincing car in this group.
