March 23, 2017: In 2017, the Tata Bolt is available in a total of 8 variants: four with the petrol MT drivetrain (ARAI-certified mileage: 17.57kmpl) and four with the diesel MT drivetrain (ARAI-certified mileage: 22.95kmpl).
Engine options include a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine dubbed 'Revotron', that develops 90PS of power and 140Nm of torque. On the other hand, the diesel engine is a 1.3-litre 'Quadrajet' unit that is good for 75PS and 190Nm. Both motors are available with a 5-speed manual transmission only.
The Tata Bolt is priced between Rs 4.58 lakh and Rs 7.53 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It takes on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, and the Hyundai Grand i10.
Tata's attempt to reinvent itself was spearheaded by the Bolt, and its compact sedan sibling - the Zest. The hatchback can be called the spiritual successor to the Indica Vista, and is based on the same platform as well.
