Q. Which car is better Hyundai Grand i10 Nios or Tata Tiago?
  • Both cars are great in their own forte. Hyundai cars are packed with features to the brim; and as per the Nios’ competition and price range, it’s well equipped. The pre-facelift’s highlighted features included a smooth-operating eight-inch touchscreen system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, automatic AC, and rear AC vents. New additions like automatic headlamps, cruise control, a tweaked instrument cluster, a USB Type-C fast charger, and blue footwell ambient lighting add to the convenience and make it better to be seated in. The Grand i10 Nios is still known for its stylish look, premium cabin, refined and smooth engine, and good drive quality. On the other hand, The Tiago comes with a decent feature list including a 7-inch touchscreen system that works well, Android and Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity, and is paired with an 8-speaker (4 speakers, 4 tweeters) setup which sounds very good. If you are someone who prefers using voice commands, Tata has taken care of that as well in the Tiago. The Tiago, like all Tatas, has a comfortable ride quality. It absorbs potholes and rough surfaces well and keeps the cabin away from the harshness of the surface. Inside the city, the broken roads and speed breakers are dealt with with ease. To accommodate the 100 extra kilos in the boot, the rear has been stiffened a bit and it can be felt on the sharper potholes, but the ride mostly remains stable and comfortable. Moreover, we would suggest taking the test ride so that you can feel the comfort. You can click on the following link to see the details of the nearest dealership and select your city accordingly.
Q. Which one is better Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta AMT or Tata Tiago XZA?
  • Selecting between the Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta AMT and Tata Tiago XZA AMT would depend on certain factors such as your budget, fuel type preference, maintenance costs, usability, etc. The Tata Tiago would be a better pick as the hatchback boasts brilliant build quality and the 4-stars in Global NCAP speaks highly about safety. But if you are looking for a small car with attractive styling, decent ride quality and brilliant build quality then it could be a good option. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki has given the Ignis Zeta variant a feature upgrade that includes a Smartplay Studio 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which was exclusive to the top-spec Alpha variant. If you are looking for a great little quirky car that packs in a lot then the Ignis would be a great option. For a better understanding of compatibility and driving comfort, we would suggest you to take a test drive. Q. Which is better in terms of performance and price, Hyundai Aura or Tata Tigor BS6?
  • The price of Hyundai Aura starts at Rs. 5.92 Lakh and goes upto Rs. 9.30 Lakh. While, the price of Tata Tiago starts at Rs. 4.85 Lakh and goes upto Rs. 6.84 Lakh. In the BS6 era, the Tiago is powered by a single 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine. It produces 86PS of power and 113Nm of torque. You can have it with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT automatic gearbox. On the other hand, Hyundai Aura comes with three engine options -- 1.2-litre petrol engine (83PS/114Nm) and a 1.2-litre diesel engine (75PS/190Nm) from the Grand i10 Nios, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (100PS/172Nm) from the Venue. Further, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership.
Q. Is Magnite a safer car like Tata Tiago?
  • The car wouldn't have been allowed to be sold if it hadn't been safe. It comes with dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, hill launch control, and electronic stability control. Nissan Magnite gets a pretty decent build quality. We can't give any verdict about its structural strength as it hasn't been tested by NCAP yet. If we talk about its interior, the finish quality of the plastics is smooth and the grey fabric on the door pads is a thoughtful touch. However, the plastics don’t feel as robust or thick as they do in a Sonet, Venue, XUV300 or even EcoSport. Even the fitment quality is of a budget grade, with bits like the center console flexing/moving about when you fiddle with it. We’d say it’s a step up compared to the Vitara Brezza but it’s acceptable, not exceptional.
  • It's got 4 star safety rating in Asean NCAP crash tests. So, it's definitely safe. But I am not sure if it's body is delicate as a Maruti car; probably not else it wouldn't get a 4 star safety rating.
Q. I want to buy my first car. I am confused among Swift, Tiago, Grand i10 Nios and Figo(diesel). My priorities are safety, mileage, build quality comfort and mostly city drives. 15-25km per day.
  • Selecting a perfect car depends on certain factors such as your budget, ride quality, features required, brand preference, maintenance costs, etc. Maruti Suzuki Swift is back to its sporty roots, with the chassis tuned for handling than outright comfort. It is a big improvement on the old car but it's not quite the all-rounder it once was. Whereas, the Grand i10 Nios offers great build quality and interior fit and finish and is well-equipped with a lot of segment first features. As for the Figo, it misses out on bling and feels sober and less upmarket than its rivals. However, it offers an powerful diesel engine, comfortable ride quality, sporty driving traits and brilliant safety features including up to six airbags. Lastly, the Tiago is a small hatchback compared to the aforementioned options. But if you are looking for a small car with attractive styling, decent ride quality and brilliant build quality then it could be a good option. The 4-stars in Global NCAP speaks highly about safety. Now, as per your daily driving requirements, we'd suggest you to opt for the petrol engine. Selecting the right fuel type depends on your utility and average running of the car. If you drive less then 50km in a day then we recommend you to go with a petrol car as they are easy to maintain, have a longer life span and they cost less initially then the diesel car. On the other hand, diesel cars are preferred if the average daily run is more than 50km which makes it feasible purchase. For a better understanding of compatibility and riding comfort, we would suggest you to take a test ride. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership. • So, we set out to compare the diesel-manual variant of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios against the Maruti Swift and Ford Figo. The Ford Figo has the biggest engine and it is also the most powerful of the lot. In terms of torque too, Figo comes out on top as it offers 25Nm more than the Swift and Grand i10 Nios.
  • Maruti suzuki cars especially automatic is a complete failure. I have a maruti swift automatic car (8000km run). For that run itself I have paid 1 lakh rupees (INR) for repair. For their AMT manufacturing issue, customer has to pay full cost and the replaced part ( 80000 rupees) is also not under any warranty. Maruti suzuki cheats customer post buy. I have cars from hyundai, toyota . Never had such experience. Buy maruti cars only you have so much money to donate them.

Q. Out of Tiago,Tigor, Altroz and Grand i10 Nios. Which has better city and highway performance?
  • If we talk about their petrol versions, all these cars deliver similar power performance and they are best suited for city commutes only. On the other hand, if we talk about their diesel versions, only Altroz and Grand i10 Nuios are available with the option of a Diesel engine. Both are good enough for city duties However, it is the Altroz that offers a bit better performance on the highway. Do take a test drive in order to get better clarity.
