Triumph Thruxton 400

The Triumph Thruxton 400 looks like an authentic cafe racer with the frame-mounted fairing around its round LED headlight (which is the same as the Triumph Speed 400), the bar-end mirrors, the clip-on handlebars and the rear set footpegs. It is going to be the fourth offering from the Triumph-Bajaj collaboration.

The Triumph Thruxton 400 will be a proper 400cc cafe racer motorcycle. Based on the same platform as the Triumph Speed 400, the Thruxton 400 will be powered by the same 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 40PS and 37.5Nm. It will likely be in the same tune as the Speed 400 as well. The bike is expected to get slip-and-assist clutch and ride-by-wire throttle like the Speed 400.

The Truxton 400 is also expected to have the same underpinnings and hardwares as the Speed 400. It gets a 43mm inverted fork at the front and a gas-charged preload-adjustable monoshock in the rear. Brakes include a 300mm front disc with a radial caliper, and a 230mm rear disc. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with 110-section front and 150-section tubeless tyres.

The Thruxton 400 is expected to be priced a bit higher to the Speed 400, at around Rs 2.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is expected to be launched sometime in the first-half of 2025.

The closest cafe racer rival to the Thruxton 400 will be the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250. The other alternatives in the 300-400cc segment include KTM 390 Duke, Honda CB300R, BMW G 310 R and the Zontes GK350.
