TVS iQube S Expert Review
The TVS iQube S has impressed us as a reliable and comfortable electric scooter that anyone in the family could hop on and ride easily.
Design And Colours
The iQube S has a slightly conservative, elegant design unlike the Ather 450S or the Ola S1 Air, both of which look futuristic. The iQube is curvier and even the colour options are fairly mainstream ones. That said, it is an elegant scooter with good fit and finish levels.
Battery And Range
Both the iQube and the iQube S get 3.04kWh battery packs that deliver a top speed of 78kmph and a real world range of around 100km, which is pretty decent. With our long term iQube S, we found that it was very reliable and consistently ran for around 100km between top-ups.
Motor And Performance
The iQube S' 4.4kW motor has decent performance on offer. But what really stands out is just how usable the Eco mode is. There’s more than enough torque for the city and the Power mode is good enough for your occasional highway runs. Its regenerative braking is quite strong too and once you get the hold of it, you will not need to use the brakes a lot in the city.
Handling And Ride Quality
Just like the performance, the iQube S’ handling is decent too. You surely can have fun on it but being the family-oriented scooter it is, its handling isn’t super sharp like the Ather 450X or the Ola S1 Pro. that said, what really stands out is its ride quality. The iQube S is supremely comfortable even on the biggest of potholes and speed breakers.
Comfort And Storage
The iQube’s ergonomics are spot on and riders of all sizes will be pretty comfortable on it. That said, the 17-litre boot storage isn’t a lot and given that you will be carrying the chunky charger around, that further reduces the space on offer.
Features
The TVS iQube Electric scooter comes with a range of features. The iQube S version gets a seven-inch full-color display that you can control with a joystick.
Features include smartphone connectivity, LED lights, a logo that lights up near the drivetrain, lighting under the seat, and a USB charging socket. They also offer useful extras like Q-park assist, different riding modes, options for day and night displays, and regenerative braking.
Thanks to the smartphone connectivity, you can do a lot of things, like checking your past ride stats, getting alerts for overspeeding and emergencies, monitoring the battery status, finding where you parked last, and even getting navigation help and alerts for incoming calls and SMS. The ST version also has voice assistance and a roomy 32-liter storage space under the seat.
Is The TVS iQube S Worth Buying?
The iQube S makes for a lovely family-oriented scooter and if you’re in search of such a scooter (at the cost of outright sportiness), it makes for a great choice.
