Updated Cruze to get slight styling and performance tweaks
2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Come June 2012, Chevrolet India will give the Cruze a fresh dose of styling to shake off its age. Design changes will include a redesigned front bumper with triangular fog lamp housings and bigger air intake. The front grille now gets horizontal slats instead of the earlier honey comb design.  The headlights remain the same, however, the black plastic on the edges inside the headlamp have been replaced by silver reflector material. The facelift Cruze also gets new alloy wheels. On the inside, expect the Cruze to remain largely the same, albeit, with a re-designed rear seat for improving headroom.

Staying true to its tag line of ‘Diesel Rocket’, the Chevrolet Cruze has been a favourite diesel performance car in India. The Chevrolet Cruze with its 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine churns out a healthy 150PS of power. The Cruze’s attractive styling and interiors made the car a complete package.

The Cruze with its 0-100 time of 9.6 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h was designed for high speed European conditions. In India, Chevrolet is likely to retain the existing 2.0 litre VCDi engine while tweaking power output to about 165PS of power. The facelifted Chevrolet Cruze will be offered in some markets with a 1.7 litre VCDi engine that churns out 131PS of power.

The facelift will give the already attractive Chevrolet Cruze a fresh new appeal to take on its competition with.
