Koenigsegg One:1

Koenigsegg, a Swedish car manufacturing firm, is known for its insane piece of engineering – the One:1. This hyper car was unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show and boasts of breathtaking speed. The hypercar is now in the news for shattering its own 0-300-0kmph Guinness World Record in just less than 18 seconds. Yes, you heard it right.

The Koenigsegg One:1 was put through its paces on a test-driving track in Angelholm in Sweden. Factory driver Robert Serwanksi took the vehicle from 0-300kmph and back to zero in just 17.95 seconds, breaking its previous Guinness World Record, which it had earlier accomplished in 21.19 seconds.

Serwanksi also took his hands off the wheel at one point during the drive to display the One:1’s stability. It took the car 11.92 seconds to reach from 0-300kmph and the remaining 6.03 seconds to brake from 300-0.

The Swedish carmaker christened its hypercar One:1 keeping in mind an important aspect. The weight of this car is equivalent to its power. The car weighs 1,340kg and produces a good 1340PS of power. The One:1 is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in just 2.8 seconds.

The One:1 underpins a mid-mounted 5.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine producing a maximum power of 1340PS and a peak torque of 1,370Nm, thus drawing an inspiration to its name, an equal-power-to-weight-ratio. The Koenigsegg Agera One:1 is priced at Rs 12.5 crore (before taxes and import duties).
