Paul Walker gained international fame for playing Brian O'Conner, one of the lead protagonists, in the street racing action film The Fast and the Furious. Such was the fame that he garnered, that he went on to reprise the role in five of the seven sequels of the action flick. The orange Toyota Supra driven by Walker’s character, Brian O'Conner, in the 2001 flick The Fast and the Furious gained a lot of popularity in those days. This orange Supra has now gone under the hammer and was sold for Rs 1.17 crore.
This stunt car was showcased throughout the film, including in the final drag scene. The bright orange Supra boasts big rims, a massive rear wing, and wild vinyl graphics. The car comes equipped with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder inline engine capable of churning out 220PS of power. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The Toyota Supra also has two Nitrous Oxide tanks in the rear, but they were merely used as props in the action film. This car also has a roll cage inside for safety.
Following Walker’s tragic death in 2013, cars related to him and the Fast and Furious franchise have been auctioned quite often. The cars that were auctioned in the past include his Nissan Skyline GT-R and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution which featured in the 2003 movie sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious.
Needless to say, the car was likely purchased not because of its ability to perform on the streets or win car shows. It’s now a piece of history with the passing of Paul Walker and shows just how popular the Fast and Furious franchise has become.
