Who wouldn’t love to fly in the air in a flying car if given an option? It may have been a sci-fi dream of many for decades to evade traffic and enjoy a peaceful commute. Czech-based carmaker, Aeromobil, had announced recently that its two-seater flying car which can take flight from any clear road could go on sale as early as 2017. But, the company has experienced a few hiccups while testing its dream flying car recently.
The flying car which was doing rounds in the air at the hands of its inventor, Stefan Klein, crashed unexpectedly. According to the company, Klein deployed the Aeromobil's parachute at around 900 feet, and it brought him safely back to Earth.
Images of the crash which surfaced on the web show the extensive damage caused to the vehicle. Reports suggest, people who witnessed the incident claimed that the aircraft went into a tailspin before Klein deployed the parachute. The inventor wasn’t harmed in the crash, though. The company has, however, decided to take this incidence as a chance to improve its flying car. The Czech-based firm is examining the data and plans to start test flights once again after the plane is repaired.
This flying car is capable of transforming from a car to a plane simply by unfolding wings that fit alongside the vehicle’s cockpit and starting a propeller that is in the car’s rear. The Czech-built vehicle can hit over 160kmph on the ground and it flies at 200kmph on twin propellers. This vehicle can fit into a regular parking space, and can be refuelled at any petrol pump. The company is yet to confirm a price tag for the vehicle.
