- Both the bikes are good in their forte. The Xtreme 160R is the most exciting motorcycle to come out of the stables of Hero MotoCorp in the recent past. It has the styling, performance, and dynamics to take on the competition. However, its pricing will be crucial to make an impact on the segment. Whereas, while the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 BS6 might not have many tangible features to justify the price hike due to BS6 norms, it more than makes up for it with raw performance. In fact, it is the most powerful motorcycle in its segment, making it ideal for enthusiasts who prioritise performance over anything else. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride for a better understanding of performance and comfort. Click on the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
- The Hero Xtreme 160R is now available in four variants: single disc, double disc, 100 Million and Stealth Edition. While the first two variants are available in Pearl Silver White, Vibrant Blue and Sports Red the 100 Million Limited Edition is available in a unique red-white-and-black combo livery. The top-spec Stealth Edition comes in Matte Black. Selecting one would depend on your personal preference of styling. We would suggest you to visit the nearest authorized dealer in your city and take a test ride for a better understanding. - The lazy rake angle and the ridiculously long wheelbase of 1480mm might lead you to believe that the Avenger would have a very vague feeling front end and wouldn’t be a nimble handler. But that really isn’t the case. While it wouldn’t be our first choice for some corner-carving action, the front does feel stable enough through the bends. And it turns rather quickly too. But this agility is a bigger boon in the city, where darting through traffic feels easy enough - a good thing as the Avenger 160 is really more of an urban cruiser than an out-and-out highway tourer. On the other hand, if we talk about FZ-X, compared to the regular FZ-FI, the FZ-X’s handlebars are taller and pulled closer to the rider, and the footpegs have been moved quite a bit forwards. So you end up sitting in a very commuters stance. Combine that with the very soft seat and you’re bound to have a back and butt ache if you spend a long time in the saddle. Then there’s the highway performance. You’ll only be able to maintain speeds of about 80-85kmph comfortably on the highway. Anything faster than that makes the bike feel rather strained. And because of this, highway efficiency, while fairly ok at 48.67kmpl, takes a bit of a hit compared to city efficiency. For a better understanding of performance and riding comfort, we would suggest you take a test ride.
