Aprilia took the wraps off its middleweight supersport, the RS 660, at EICMA 2019. The Concept RS 660 was shown at EICMA 2018. Aprilia is pitching the RS 660 as a global product as it wants to attract more riders to the Italian brand’s folklore. The RS 660 will be sold in developed as well as developing markets (like India). The 660cc parallel-twin motor of the RS 660 is made up of the front bank of cylinders from the V4 engine found on Aprilia’s flagship RSV4 1100 Factory sportbike. The new parallel twin engine on the RS 660 makes 100PS. The RS 660 gets the whole APRC suite of rider aids which is now lean-sensitive thanks to a six-axis IMU. Although it misses out on active aerodynamics, the RS 660 gets winglets just like its elder sibling, the RSV4. Top-spec hardware like 43mm Kayaba USD, aluminium swingarm and Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers are found on the RS 660.
