Hyundai's subcompact sedan, the Aura is here. It will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki DZire, the Honda Amaze, Tata's Tigor and the Ford Aspire.
The Aura is 190mm longer compared to the NIOS, but height and width remains the same. In terms of looks, it's a bit quirky - especially from the rear. It's got neat elements though, including twin Boomerang-shaped DRLs, projector headlamps and foglamps and 15-inch alloy wheels. It's expected to share the interior design and feature set with thr hatchback - which means a touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, automatic climate control and a coloured MID will be on offer. Hyundai claims a rear kneeroom of 805mm, whereas the boot space stands at 402 litres.
Three engine options to be had: a 83PS 1.2-litre petrol and a 75PS 1.2-litre diesel (both with 5MT/5AMT) and a 100PS 1.0-litre turbo petrol.
Prices are expected to be in the Rs 6 lakh -9.5 lakh range. We're expecting a launch in mid-January.
