Jeep had two special Compass variants on display in Geneva - the Compass Trailhawk 4x4e and the Compass S.
The Compass Trailhawk 4x4e features a new plug-in hybrid drivetrain. Jeep claims that this will not only boost effective range by up to 50km (at speeds of up to 130kmph), but also the off-road cred of the Compass. The new electric All-Wheel-Drive (eAWD) tech works in conjunction with the ICE engine producing up to 240 horsepower and will even help over challenging terrain which typically require low ratios and maximum torque.
Also on display was the Compass S special variant that adds cosmetic tweaks to this midsize SUV. Highlights include a dual-tone paint job, new 19-inch alloy wheels, 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment and a Beats-sourced audio system.
The Jeep Compass competes with the Mahindra XUV500, the Hyundai Tucson and the Tata Harrier.
