The Kia Carens has been crash tested by the Global NCAP and Kia aren't going to be happy with their result. After expecting at least 4 stars in the #safecarsforIndia test, a result of 3 stars isn't impressive. The Carens was tested in its base variant but even the base variants of this MPV gets one of the most impressive safety packages on the Indian market.
6 Air Bags, ESC, VSM, BAS, HAC, DBC ABS, 4 Disc Brakes, TPMS, Rear Parking Sensors. ISOFix Seat Mounts, Front Seat Belts with Pretensioners with Load Limiter, Speed Sensing Door Lock and Impact Sensing Unlock. Yes, that's a long list indeed.
It's score of three stars is the same as the Seltos, which it shares a platform with, but it scored more points in Adult and Child safety than the Seltos. Still this is clearly not the result that Kia was going for.
