The long-awaited Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV has just been revealed, although, technically, the wait hasn't quite ended yet. Set to be launched in January 2023, the XUV400 rivals the Tata Nexon EV Max. Based on the XUV300, which in turn, was originally based on the SsangYong Tivoli, the XUV400 is a mid-sized SUV, unlike the Nexon EV that measures under 4 metres in length. Although the XUV400's 39.4kWh battery is smaller than the Nexon EV Max's 40.5kWh battery, its claimed range stands at 456km (vs the Nexon EV Max's 437km).
With its size and range, the XUV400 poses a real threat to cars like the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV as well. In this video, we take a look at how the XUV400 has evolved from the sub4 metre SUV it's based on, how different it is vs the XUV300 and what it offers differently/better than the Nexon EV.
