On paper the Mahindra XUV400 is impressive. A 0-100kmph time of just 8.3 seconds is seriously quick. A range of over 450 kilometers is more than practical for an everyday car and with it growing in size (over the XUV300) to 4200mm there's plenty of space on the inside too.
There's lots to like about the XUV400, it feels nicely put together, has lots of practical cubby holes and storage spaces for knick nacks and there's proper adult space in the rear seats. It even sits three abreast in a pinch.
But there are some creature comforts that we've grown accustomed to that have been missed out. Wireless charging, air cooled seats and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay may be extras that most could manage without. But your rear seat passengers will complain about the lack of rear air con vents and charging points for sure.
