XUV700 deliveries could commence by October, 2021
The XUV700 will feature a 10.25-inch dual screen setup, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, a Sony 3D sound system, and Alexa AI.
Mahindra XUV700’s safety kit includes multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, as well as ADAS suite of cool driver assists.
It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine from the Thar with more oomph.
Rivals include the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and smaller SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, MG Hector and the Tata Harrier.
On the eve of India’s 75th Independence Day, Mahindra declared war on all car makers in India, on all cars - from hatches to big SUVs and everything in between, by unveiling the XUV700.
It was expected that the XUV500 replacement would charge full steam into the SUV pack, however, the ferocity of the attack, underlined by the prices, was absolutely unexpected. The UVS 700’s prices at Rs 12 Lakh for a 200PS petrol engine, thereby undercutting the XUV500 by a whopping 3.5 Lakhs and which also made it significantly cheaper than its rivals! So price is a key weapon in the XUV’s arsenal, but it needs more to win this war. So, what are the other weapons the XUV 700 is packing? And will they guarantee a successful conquest?
