The Praise is the latest electric scooter from Okinawa to hit the Indian market. Powered by a 1kW brushless DC hub motor, with a peak power output of 2.4kW, it offers three riding modes - Eco, Sporty, and Turbo, the last of which is said to take the Praise to a top speed of 75kmph. With a 72v 45Ah battery pack under the floorboard, Okinawa claims that this e-scooter can manage between 175 and 200km on a full charge.
We spent two full weeks with the Praise putting it through the rigours of city commuting to find out its real world performance figures, how far it can actually go on a single charge, and even how much time it took to fully charge its batteries, amongst other things. But most importantly, we tried to answer whether the Praise is doing enough to make a strong case for itself as a daily commuter in the urban environment over conventional petrol powered scooters.
