Triumph Motorcycle’s model lineup is vast and varied and it is growing even bigger, albeit by going lower. This isn’t the new entry level made-in-India Triumph that we were expecting, but the new Trident is very welcome indeed. The Trident is a new motorcycle that takes the Street Triple formula but makes it more accessible, more everyday and a bit more charming. It also simplifies its mechanicals to drop the price, but that should only make it all the more tempting.
For this the Trident borrows the 675cc engine from the previous generation Daytona and is expected to add a greater bottom end punch for everyday street riding. Triumph says they won’t be using the T-plane crank, so the howl of the three-cylinder motor will remain intact. The chassis is also an all-new steel tubular frame that will be tuned toward everyday use and will also help cut costs. But, it won't be a cut price Triumph as the Trident will also get lots of goodies like a fully digital display and rider modes too.
