Aside from bringing the Moto Morini brand to India, Moto Vault is also bringing in some mid-capacity bikes from Chinese bike maker Zontes. The first of these are the 350s, and we got to sample the 350R - a naked roadster and the 350 ADV T, which itself comes in two flavours - the road going 350T and the slightly off-road capable 350T ADV. All these 350s come equipped with the same engine - a 348cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor making 38PS of power and around 32-33Nm of toque (depending on the model). The 350R on the other hand is a pukka roadster with a bikini fairing, 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends and decently premium hardware such as a beefy upside down fork and even a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Speaking of the tyre pressure monitoring system, this is where all the 350s really shine - they’re packed with premium features hitherto unheard of in this capacity segment. The 350R and both the 350Ts get keyless start which helps you lock and unlock the bikes at the push of a button on the handlebar. They also get a button on the switchgear to electrically open the fuel filler as well as electrically unlock the seat for accessing your toolkit, documents and other knickknacks. The 350Ts on the also get an electrically adjustable windshield - something you don’t find in ADVs wih 3-times the cubic capacity. Also, the 350T gets a 19-17-inch alloy wheel configuration with road spec tyres, which the 350T ADV gets the same wheel sizes, but these are side-laced wire spoke wheels which support tubeless off-road rubber. And that likely will make it the most affordable bike in India to get tubeless wire spoke wheels.
The Zontes 350R will take the fight to the KTM 390 Duke and the BMW G 310 R, while the 350T will take on the KTM 390 Adventure and the BMW G 310 GS.
