Design: The Honda Shine comes with a conservative, yet sharp design. Its headlight cowl comes with chrome accents, and the side panels get a chrome highlight as well, for a premium appeal. The sporty-looking graphics enhance the bike’s looks too. It features a long single-piece seat and ergonomics that encourage a laid-back riding posture, to suit daily commutes. The bike also gets a redesigned instrument console.
Features: The Honda Shine 125 comes with a twin-pod analogue instrument cluster with tell-tale lights. There’s no smartphone connectivity even as an option. Other noteable features include a silent starter, side stand indicator with engine cut-off function, engine kill switch, a three year standard warranty with the option to extend to 7 more years.
Engine: The Honda Shine is powered by a 123.94cc single-cylinder engine that churns out 10.74PS and 11Nm, working alongside a 5-speed gearbox. It also gets a kick start lever in addition to self start function.
Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The Shine 125 is built on a diamond type frame linked to a telescopic fork and a pair of shock absorbers at the rear. The bike rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped with tubeless tyres. Braking is via a 240mm disc/ 130mm drum up front, and a 130mm rear drum. Honda has equipped the bike with a 10.5 litre fuel tank, and a 791mm tall seat. It weighs 113kg kerb, and comes with a decent ground clearance of 162mm.
Rivals: The Honda Shine 125 competes with the Bajaj CT125X, Hero Super Splendor, and the Bajaj Pulsar 125. You can also take a look at the Hero Maestro Edge 125, TVS NTorq 125, and the Yamaha Fascino 125 in the same price bracket.
Variants: The Honda Shine comes in two variants (disc & drum) and can be purchased in five distinctive colours. Apart from the difference in braking hardware, the remaining mechanicals and features are similar across the board.
