EXPERT REVIEW

Expert's Opinion on CB350?

Just another retro?
Just another retro?
  • The Honda CB350 is a retro roadster built on Honda’s 350 platform, just like the Honda H’ness CB350 and the Honda CB350RS
  • The CB350 has been designed to compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350
  • Offers more features than its main rival
Styling appeals to everyone
Styling appeals to everyone
  • The classic design has been nicely executed
  • Generous use of chrome at the right places gives it more retro appeal
  • The teardrop shaped fuel tank fits the overall styling well
  • Looks too generic, almost like a copy of the Royal Enfield Classic 350
  • No ‘wow’ factor as such in the overall design that makes it stand out
  • Some people may not like the use of this much chrome
Smooth Operator
Smooth Operator
  • Engine refinement is segment best
  • No vibrations felt even at higher speeds
  • One of the most fuel efficient bikes in its class
  • Riding at slower speeds in higher gears is difficult, needs frequent gear changes
  • Lacks bottom-end torque
Take a chill pill
Take a chill pill
  • Decent handler, despite its long wheelbase
  • Easy to maneuver inside city due to wide handlebar
  • Progressive brake feel, adequate for most situations
  • Kerb weight on the higher side at 187kg
  • Fast paced riders won’t like the laidback approach
  • You can really feel its weight when making U-turns
Glides over the bad patches
Glides over the bad patches
  • Relatively well balanced suspension setup
  • Absorbs most bumps and undulations with relative ease
  • Front suspension bottoms out when hitting deep potholes
  • Comfort oriented, not meant for fast corners
King of the road?
King of the road?
  • Has a neutral and upright riding posture
  • 800mm seat height make it accessible to shorter riders as well
  • Puts you in a similar seating position as the Royal Enfields
  • The seat can feel a bit soft for heavier riders, who might feel uncomfortable after riding continuously for 2-3 hours
Gizmos or gimmicks?
Gizmos or gimmicks?
  • Gets LED lighting all around and a semi-digital instrument console
  • Gets Traction Control
  • Pro variant also gets Bluetooth smartphone connectivity
  • The voice assist feature feels more like a gimmick rather than a helpful feature
  • The turn-by-turn navigation cues are quite small and can be difficult to read
Should you buy the Honda CB350?
Should you buy the Honda CB350?
  • A good overall package when compared to rivals
  • Gets more features than competition
  • Comfortable for long distances
  • Design wise does not stand out from the rest of the bikes in its segment
  • Pro variant a bit overpriced
  • Tall gearing not suited for city use

Test drive

I had done a test drive of cb350, An amazing experience. The ride quality and comfort are unique and matchless in this segment. It's smooth like a flower running through the air.It is very much balanced and at the same time makes your road presence majestically.Once an individual takes a test drive he will not even think to purchase any other bike.
