Price: The Hornback X1 is available in a single variant with two distinct colour options: Blue-Orange and Grey-Orange. The electric bicycle is priced at Rs 47,999 (on-road, Bengaluru).

Features: The Hornback X1 stands out with its 7-speed Shimano gears and five levels of pedal assist that cater to various riding conditions. It even comes with an LED headlight, and an electric horn for extra safety. The electric-only mode offers an effortless ride experience without needing to pedal. The electric bicycle also features an LCD screen showing vital metrics like speed, distance travelled, battery level and pedal assist level. The folding mechanism is claimed to be designed to last for 20 years, and makes storage a lot easier. it also comes with wheels so that the e-cycle can be easily moved around even while it is folded. The battery is removable, and the compartment is lockable too.

Motor: The Hornback X1 gets a 250W hub motor paired with a 7-speed Shimano Tourney gearbox. In electric-only mode, the top-speed is limited to 25kmph whereas you may be able to reach a higher top speed by pedalling and using gears. The removable Panasonic lithium-ion battery pack, with a capacity of 7.65Ah, is IP65-rated and provides a claimed real-world range of 45km. The battery can be charged from zero to 80 percent within approximately three hours.

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The Hornback X1's mechanical disc brakes at both the front and the rear manage braking duties. They also come with an electric cut-off which shuts the motor when the brakes are applied. The wheels are 28-inch wire-spoke ones wrapped with tube-type tyres. An important detail to note is that this electric cycle does not include front or rear, which might affect comfort while riding on uneven terrain.

Rivals: The Hornback X1 competes against other foldable electric cycles like the Hero Lectro F3i and Toutche Heileo H100. Other competitors that do not offer foldability but fall within a similar price range include the Essel Energy Get Max, Emotorad Doodle, and Essel Energy Get 5.

Range: X1 can go upto 45 km/charge after a full charge.
