MG Astor

The new MG Astor (ZS Hybrid) has been revealed in the UK. The compact SUV saw no major updates in the past three years since its launch, hence the new model could be launched as a facelift in India. The new MG Astor, if launched, will see a hike in its price tag from the current range of Rs 9.98 lakh to Rs 18.07 lakh ( ex-showroom).

The compact SUV from MG Motor, launched in 2021, was the first SUV to offer ADAS in its segment. Its main highlight is the AI assistant, which responds to your commands. If you are planning for a stylish looking, technology loaded, and an upscale cabin experience, this could be the SUV for you.

MG Astor Key Highlights

Features: The MG Astor now comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, a 6-way powered driver seat, automatic climate control and connected car tech. Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, traction control, hill hold/descent control and Level-2 ADAS features.

Engine: The current MG Astor is powered by either a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 110 PS and 144 Nm or a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine that delivers 140 PS and 220 Nm. The 1.5-litre petrol engine gets mated with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT while the turbo petrol engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic. The Astor measures 4323 mm in length, 1809 mm in width and 1650 mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2585 mm.

Rivals: The MG Astor continues to compete against the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Citroen Basalt and C3 Aircross.

Variants: The MG Astor comes in five broad trims: Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro. It gets five monotone shades: Havana Grey, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red, Candy White and Starry Black. The compact SUV can also be had in a white-black dual-tone shade.
