V-Strom SX Key Highlights
Price: 200000
Design: The V-Strom 250 SX’s styling resembles that of the bigger V-Stroms as well as Suzuki’s much older, simple ADVs like the DR-BIG. A lean fairing, big windscreen and a sharp beak up front complete the proper ADV look. The V-Strom 250 SX comes in three colours: Pearl Blaze Orange, Champion Yellow No. 2, and Glass Sparkle Black.
Features: The V-Strom 250 SX borrows its LED headlight and halogen indicators from the Gixxer 250. It gets a completely digital instrument cluster with bluetooth connectivity; turn by turn navigation; alerts like missed calls, overspeeding, and SMS; and phone battery level. The small 12-litre tank too is from the Gixxer 250. Suzuki has increased the length of the subframe so that the rider and the pillion would have more room to move around. A tail rack-cum-grab rail for mounting luggage and a standard USB charger add to the touring credentials of the baby V-Strom 250 SX.
Engine: The V-Strom 250 SX gets the same 249 cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, SOHC engine from the Gixxer 250, mated to a 6-speed gearbox and pumping out 26.5PS and 22.2Nm. At 835 mm, its seat height is a considerable 35 mm more than the Gixxer's. Even though the V-Strom 250 SX gets a solid 205mm of ground clearance, a major miss is the tiny 120 mm of suspension travel at the front. It has 19-inch and 17-inch tyres slapped at the front and rear respectively. The braking duties have been allotted to discs at both ends.
Rivals: The V-Strom 250 SX’s chief rivals are the Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure and the KTM 250 Adventure.
