Expert's Opinion on Star City Plus?
- The TVS Star City Plus is a simple 110cc commuter motorcycle which gets some premium features like an LED headlight and is well known for delivering great mileage
- The motorcycle looks very premium for the segment in comes in and can easily be passed off as a 125cc motorcycle
- The sharp bikini fairing, beefy side panels and the sold finish levels of the bike makes it a complete product
- Returns excellent mileage in the city at around 83kmpl in stop and go traffic
- Enough grunt to reach 75kmph easily which is good enough for a 110cc commuter
- Gets a snappy throttle which makes the motorcycle want to jump at every small input
- Vibes creep in after 45kmph and can be felt on the handlebar, tank and footpegs
- Unrefined engine for such a small capacity
- The low 116kg kerb weight allows the bike to be able to maneuver through the traffic easily
- The steering is light which allows the bike to steer easily
- The 240mm petal disc brake has a fierce bite and stops the bike quickly when required
- The plush suspension soaks up bad roads very easily
- The ride quality is composed with two riders or with luggage
- It can get a bit bouncy especially over sharp or large bumps
- The low 785mm seat height makes it easy to manage for shorter riders
- The handlebar and mirrors are lower than expected which means you have to bend your neck to see the mirrors or the instrument cluster
- This tends to make it uncomfortable for slightly taller riders if riding for a prolonged period of time
- Gets a semi digital instrument cluster and an LED headlight
- USB charger next to the console makes it very convenient
- The digital inset only shows the fuel gauge and the odometer which is quite disappointing
- We think it should’ve had at least a trip meter, if not a mileage indicator/distance-to-empty readout
- The TVS Star City Plus is a very fuel efficient motorcycle which is also reasonably priced
- Gets fancy looks and good finish levels
- Could do with a more refined engine and have better features
- But as a simple, yet stylish commuter motorcycle, it’s a pretty good option
