What is torque of Royal Enfield Meteor 350? @ ZigWheels

Q. I am confused between Meteor 350 and Dominar 250. I am looking for city as well as touring compatible bike. I'm not looking for High speed cruising (90-110kmph cruising speed will be enough). Also, decent cornering ability will be enough. Both the bikes will fulfill my requirements. However, I am confused because of new RE Meteor refined and long stroke engine feel, at the same time looks and features Dominar 250 provide in this price range. I am currently using Yamaha FZ16 (2013 model), which one would be better upgrade?

As per your requirements, Dominar 250 would be a better pick. Is is suitable enough for city commutes as well as for highway long rides. Certainly Meteor is refined as compared to other 350 cc Royal Enfield bikes but between these two, it is the Dominar 250 that is properly refined and is butter smooth even when cruising at 100kmph. The ratios of the 6-speed transmission are well spaced for better low-mid-range performance. Keep the tachometer needle hovering between 2000 and 3000rpm, and the bike can move along without any issues. As far as the features are concerned, the bike is loaded with premium bits like an all-LED lighting system, full-digital instrument cluster, and power cruiser-like styling with a comfortable touring-friendly riding position. The instrument cluster isn’t as detailed as its bigger sibling with real-time mileage indicators and such, but it is informative enough to fulfil its basic purpose. If we talk about Meteor 350, This Royal Enfield fulfills the promise made by the Thunderbird many years ago. However, the Meteor doesn’t make a bigger and bolder promise of its own by way of plush ride quality, a greater sense of richness or, crucially, better cruising ability. Q. In Meteor anybody facing timing chain or tappet noise from engine at the RPM of 3000 - 4000 in every gear. I am facing the issue.

I am also facing the same issue. it got checked and rectified 2 times but after some time it again reappears. service center personnel says they had conveyed the same to higher ups and waiting for they reply to solve the same.it seems their is some issue with the new designed engine.

First 750kms then after every 10000kms but keep checking your oil every 2000kms if level goes down due to any reason get it refilled asap

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 gets ByBre 300mm front disc and a 270mm rear unit with dual-channel ABS as standard. As for the suspension setup, it gets a 41mm telescopic front fork and twin 6-stage preload-adjustable emulsion shock absorbers at the rear.

Q. In the official website it is written that Meteor 350 comes with air-oil cooled engine, where does the oil cooling happens as there is no radiator present?

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is powered by an all-new 349cc air-oil cooled SOHC 2-valve motor with fuel-injection. Though there is no radiator, it gets an internal oil circuit in order to aid cooling.

Q. Is kick start available in Royal Enfield Meteor?

RE Meteor i a cruiser and they must give kick starter as it is very beneficial in case of battery failure during extreme colds or if some problem occurs while cruising on highways. They are already offering kick start in classic 350 and bullet 350. There was no need to remove the kick start. It is always beneficial to have a kick starter along with the electric start in case of emergency and extreme winters to cold start the bike. I don't understand the reason why most of the companies are removing kick start in their bikes, This is not a costly feature to add on but it is extremely important in case of emergency. I own a Bajaj Avenger 220 and I have experienced the problems one has to face when there is a problem in self starter in middle of the road. I hope the bike manufacturing companies read my comment and stop removing kick start from bikes.I am very much interested in RE Meteor but the only reason I cannot make my mind to buy it is because there is no kick start on it.

Q. Which is better Honda Hness 350 or RE Meteor 350? I want my bike for longer ride like 700kms and I have back pain issue too.

@ Azeem | I have both , but Hness is more powerful bike get top end easily 130+ whereas Meteor slower than Hness.

I have done couple of long rides on hness. Easy to do 400kms a day with split seats. Yet to take my meteor out on a long ride (will post once I get a chance to). But I must say short distance drive (50 kms) is more fun on meteor. Meteor has better gearing and gear changes are very smooth.
