Hyundai India has launched an all-black Knight Edition of the Creta at Rs 14.51 lakh (ex-showroom). This edition is based on the S(O) and SX(O) trims of the SUV and features major cosmetic changes that bring black inserts throughout the exterior and interior. There are no new feature additions or changes to its existing powertrain options. The new edition gets the option of a naturally aspirated petrol and diesel engine but misses out on the turbo-petrol engine. Prices for the Creta’s Knight edition go up to Rs 20.15 lakh (ex-showroom).

Features: The Hyundai Creta is a feature loaded compact SUV with niceties like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, dual zone automatic climate control unit, air purifier, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat, premium Bose sound system, and even paddle shifters for the automatic transmission variants. Standard safety equipment in the Creta includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and electronic stability control. Additionally it gets hill-start assist, and a 360 degree surround view camera with front parking sensors. Top-spec trims also come equipped with Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot detection.

Engine: The Creta is offered with 3 engine options to choose from. It gets a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (115 PS and 144 Nm), mated to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. The second option is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (160 PS and 253 Nm) mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The third option is a 1.5-litre diesel engine (116 PS and 250 Nm) mated to 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Hyundai Creta measures 4330 mm in length, 1790 mm in width, 1635 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2610 mm with a ground clearance of 190 mm.

Rivals: The Hyundai Creta rivals other compact SUVs in the market like the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor, VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. It also goes up against SUV-coupes such as the Citroen Basalt and Tata Curvv.

Variants: The Hyundai Creta is available in seven trim levels namely: E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech and SX(O). The S(O) and SX(O) get a Knight Edition as well. The Hyundai Creta is available in 6 different exterior shades to choose from namely: Atlas White (available with optional Abyss Black roof), Ranger Khaki, Fiery Red, Robust Emerald Pearl, Titan Grey and Abyss Black. There is also a Titan Grey Matte option added in the Knight edition.

The Knight edition doesn’t bring any feature additions, but focuses on offering a sinister look with its black exterior and interior elements
