In order to improve the mileage, we would suggest you ride slower. Riding fast can reduce your fuel efficiency by up to 33% if you are traveling above 60 kmph. It is best to change gears appropriately and match the gear and the RPM carefully. To get the most out of every litre of fuel accelerate gently, get to the highest gear as quickly as possible and then maintain a steady speed. Avoid jackrabbit or rapid starts while waiting at a red light and, of course, turn off the ignition if you’re stopping for over 20 seconds.

Use 5th gear for speed upto 110 and be modest on accelerator and pick gradual speed. Using this theory I have achieved an average of 15 and top mileage of 18.
