Suzuki launched the updated Access 125 Auto Expo 2025. Its arch rival has always been the Honda Activa 125, which recently received an update too. So let's find out which 125cc family scooter you should buy. .
Design
The Suzuki Access 125 looks classy with its perfectly defined retro modern design language. It gets subtle colours which makes it look quite understated yet premium. The new Access also gets a redesigned chrome surround on the headlight.
The Activa 125 looks like a premium version of the popular Activa 110. Though the body panels are slightly different as compared to its younger sibling. However, on the Activa 125, the chrome garnishing is slightly higher than the Access, making it look more blingy.
Performance
Both the scooters get a 125cc engine, however the Access 125 makes 8.4PS, 10.2Nm, while the Activa 125 makes 8.1PS and 10.4Nm. The performance of both scooters, on paper, is almost similar. That said, the kerb weight of the Access is 106kg and that of the Activa 125 is 107kg. While the difference is not much, it can make the Access that much more easier to handle when walking the scooter in parking spaces.
Underpinnings
Both of these premium family scooters offer a plush ride quality thanks to their softly sprung telescopic fork and rear monoshock. For braking duties too they are quite identical, providing an optional front disc brake and rear drum brake. Both the Access 125 and the Activa 125 get combined braking setup for progressive braking performance.
That said, the previous iterations of the Access have had the most comfortable suspension amongst the two. Considering there are not many changes to the underpinnings in the new one, we can expect a similarly plush ride from it
Features
The updated Suzuki Access 125 gets a new digital instrument cluster which is loaded with features. It gets smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alert, Whatsapp alerts, weather info, and speed alerts.
The Honda Activa 125 gets a 4.2-inch TFT coloured display with smartphone connectivity along with Honda RoadSync app which helps in accessing features like navigation and SMS/Call alert. Both of these scooters get LED lights all around. Again, with features, both the scooters are almost evenly matched. Though, the Activa 125 takes the cake with the more premium-looking TFT display.
Practicality
The Suzuki Access 125 is a very practical scooter overall it offers a 24.4-litre underseat storage along with two front utility pockets , two utility hooks, and a USB charging port. The Honda Activa 125 gets a relatively smaller 18-litre underseat storage along with two utility hooks, and one utility pocket.
This makes the Access 125 a clear winner of the storage space comparison.

ZigSays
Both the scooters are quite worthy in the segment, and you can’t go wrong with either. That said, Honda has a better service network and the service experience is quite nigglefree as per the owners. Suzuki too has a worry-free service experience reportedly, however, the service network is not as well spread. That said, the redeeming factor for the Access has always been its ride quality which has been one of the best in the segment. That coupled with its pricing which is considerably lower than the Activa 125, makes the Access a very strong contender.
Though, between the two scooters, the looks can be the most important deciding factor (apart from the price). The Access looks quite understated, while the Activa is quite bold. The one you should get is the one that visually appeals to you the most.
