Bajaj recently added a more affordable Single Seat variant to the Pulsar N160 lineup. It gets a single piece seat, single-channel ABS and a conventional telescopic fork. Now the price for Pulsar N160 starts at Rs 1,21,722 and goes all the way up to Rs 1,40,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Let's have a quick look at other options one can consider in the same price range.
Price: Rs 1,24,870 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the RM Drum variant
The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V gets its styling from the bigger RTR 200 4V. It looks like a proper sporty street naked motorcycle. The RTR 160 4V is one of the most powerful motorcycles in the segment. It gets a 159.7cc single-cylinder, air and oil-cooled engine that makes 17.55PS and 14.73Nm. The 160 4V gets a 37mm conventional telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock. For braking duties it gets a 270mm front petal disc with a twin piston caliper and a rear drum brake. In terms of features, it gets an LED headlight and DRL. There are 3 ride modes on offer: Sport, Urban and Rain. These ride modes alter the power and torque output as per the selected mode, making it easier to ride. The Sport mode being the most powerful whereas Rain is the least powerful mode.

The Yamaha FZ-X has a retro-modern design. It gets the same engine from the FZ-S. which is a 149cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 12.4PS and 13.3Nm. This engine is known for its good fuel efficiency and reliability. The FZ-X gets a 41mm telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. It gets disc brakes at both ends along with single-channel ABS. In terms of features, the FZ-X gets a fully digital instrument console along with bluetooth connectivity. This console shows all the usual information like speed, rpm, fuel, time, trip information, service indicator and call/sms alerts. It also gets traction control and all-LED lights.

It gets a 41mm telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. It gets a 266mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc for braking. . The Gixxer is equipped with a single-channel ABS and a Bluetooth enabled fully digital instrument console. It allows smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation and SMS/call alerts.

The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is a sporty commuter motorcycle with a performance oriented 160cc motor. The 163.2cc single-cylinder, air and oil-cooled engine gets a 4-valve head and produces 16.9PS and 14.6Nm. It gets a 37mm KYB USD fork along with a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. The Xtreme 160R 4V uses a 276mm front disc along with a 220mm rear petal disc.. In terms of features, the 160R 4V gets all-LED lights and the instrument console gets Bluetooth connectivity and shows SMS/call alerts.

The Chetak is Bajaj’s only electric scooter. It gets a retro-modern design language and some premium touches to make it look more appealing. The Bajaj Chetak gets a 3.5kWh non-removable battery pack. It gets a conventional telescopic fork and a rear monoshock. For braking duties, it gets a front disc and rear drum brake. The Chetak 3501 offers a claimed range of 153km and takes 3 hours to charge from 0 to 80% using its 950W charger. In terms of features, the Chetak gets a touchscreen TFT display with smartphone connectivity and allows turn-by-turn navigation along with SMS/call alerts. It also gets all-LED lights. The Chetak also gets a spacious 35-litre underseat storage.
