Mercedes-Benz EQS Vs BMW i7: Battle Of The Flagship German Sedans

Mercedes-Benz India has revealed its roadmap for 2022, and there is some exciting news for those eyeing to buy a new tri-pointed star. The German carmaker has lined up no less than 10 new models for this year, including the uber luxurious all-electric EQS (that will be locally assembled) and the Maybach S-Class.
Also, this year, Mercedes will keep customer centricity as one of its goals by introducing the ‘You First’ strategy.

First Things First - The New Launches
Mercedes has lined up 10 new launches under the Mercedes-Benz, all-electric EQ, performance-oriented AMG, and the luxurious Maybach brands. In fact, Martin Schwenk, MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, has confirmed that the Maybach S-Class and all-electric EQS will be introduced in 2022.
The Maybach S-Class, set to be launched in March 2022, pampers you with an opulent in-cabin experience. Focus has been given to the rear seats and occupants are treated to twin individual seats with a calf massage functionality, topped by champagne glasses. But the highlight, without a doubt, has to be the all-electric EQS, which will be launched in the fourth quarter this year. And to keep pricing competitive, Mercedes will be locally assembling the luxury EV in India. The EQS will also be the first to debut the glorious MBUX hyperscreen in India. Apart from that, the new C-Class and more models from the EQ sub brand are expected to come this year.
Customer Centricity - YOU First
The German carmaker will also bring customer centricity under the spotlight by introducing the ‘You First’ strategy this year. It will continue its new retail structure, where customers get access to the best price, nationwide inventory, and a direct invoice from the country. Showrooms will also be updated to provide a more luxurious feel to the customer.
More AMG performance centres are also in the pipeline to expand the performance brand in the country. And speaking of expansion, Mercedes-Benz is looking to focus on its used car business by bringing in an additional volume of 1,200 to 1,300 units this year.
The carmaker is also looking forward to curating special experiences and events for more customer interest and pull.
A Look Back At 2021 For Mercedes-Benz
Despite the pandemic bringing things to a grinding halt, Mercedes-Benz posted an impressive 42.5 percent Year on Year (YoY) growth in 2021 from 2020. The manufacturer sold 11,242 cars last year, and has a backlog of over 3,000 units. Models having high waiting periods include the A-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLA, GLC, GLE, and the GLS.
It aims to carry forward the momentum by expecting double digit growth for the next two years.
