The Kushaq, one of Skoda’s popular cars in India, has received the Monte Carlo treatment in the country. This new variant, which is the flagship variant in the Kushaq lineup, gets a host of cosmetic revisions and one feature addition. That said, Skoda is asking you to shell out Rs 70,000 over the Style for the Monte Carlo. And in this report, we’ll be looking at all the things that have gone under the knife in this special edition trim.
The Kushaq Monte Carlo sports a blacked out grille and faux airdam surrounds that replace the chrome elements found in the standard SUV. Plus, the skid plates in the bumper are finished in black, giving the overall fascia a sportier theme.
Changes are much more evident on the side, thanks to the Octavia RS245-inspired imported alloys. Plus, Monte Carlo branding takes place on the front fenders, while the glass area surrounds and the ORVMs are now finished in… you guessed it… black.
Another much welcome update is the Carbon Steel Grey roof, which contrasts nicely with the red and white body colours.
At the rear, the badges and the strip on the tailgate are finished in black, as is the skid plate lower down in the bumper. Overall, the exterior elements are tastefully done and make the Kushaq Monte Carlo look much bolder than the standard car.
Inside, the Kushaq Monte Carlo features an all-black dashboard, door pads, and upholstery with red highlights. That said, the choice of red on the dashboard and door pads could’ve been a bit better as it looks a bit loud.
Small details like the red-themed touchscreen infotainment and digital driver’s display (new addition) do wonders to improve the sportier ambience the SUV is aiming for. Rest of the features are the same as the Style, and you can read our variants explained report.
Monte Carlo branding on the head rests and door sills remind you which variant you own.
The Kushaq Monte Carlo is offered with both 115PS 1-litre and 150PS 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines, paired with options of manual and automatic transmissions.
