What Makes The New Limited Edition Royal Enfield 650 Twins Special?

As far as blank canvases go, there are few that come to being as versatile and open for customisation as the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. The roadster is a pretty simple yet straightforward motorcycle that can be easily customised into something as simple as a cafe racer (even though there is already a Continental GT 650) or something as hardcore as an enduro motorcycle, something which these renderings capture quite brilliantly.
The artist, Motosketches on FaceBook, has tried to keep the majority of the elements of the Interceptor 650 intact. Bits like the 648cc parallel-twin motor, the bolted-on dual cradle frame and the swingarm aren’t really that different from the stock bike.
Where the artist tries to bring out its hardcore credentials is with long-travel suspension components, 21-/17-inch spoke wheels, semi-knobby tyres and that MX-style front fender. Even the tank is chiselled and the subframe chopped for a stubbier look. It might not be visible from this end but in the background you can spot that the artist has gone for a single-sided upswept exhaust and not a scrambler style side-swept one.
At the end, these remain but musings. Royal Enfield has other plans with the 650 platform, the brand trying to dip its toes into the authentic cruiser segment with what we think is going to be the Roadster 650. We have spotted the bike a couple of times, with some interesting bits and bobs revealed from the spy shots.
