Mercedes-Benz is all geared up to launch the latest addition of its EV portfolio in India, the EQE SUV. This will be the third model in Mercedes-Benz India’s EV range, following the EQS sedan and the EQB SUV. So without further ado, here’s what you can expect from Mercedes-Benz’ next electric launch.
Design
Design cues of the EQE SUV follow other EQ models closely, like the rounded surfaces and coupe-like silhouette which will make the car sleeker. Up front, the black panel grille that integrates the LED light strip features a star-like pattern. From the side, the 2023 EQE SUV features a clean profile with flush-fitting door handles and aerodynamic alloy wheel design that can be as large as 21 inches. On the back, there's a connected LED light strip that looks upmarket and modern.
Powertrain
Internationally, the EQE SUV is sold in multiple powertrain options but all draw their power from a 90.6kWh battery pack. Globally, the car is offered in three broad trims : the 350+, the 350 4MATIC and the 500 4MATIC with single-motor or dual-motor setup, depending on the variant. Below is the table of each trim with its power and EPA-claimed range figures:
Trim |
Power and Torque |
Range |
350+ |
288PS/565Nm |
449km |
350 4MATIC |
288PS/765Nm |
407km |
500 4MATIC |
402PS/858Nm |
433km |
All of the above variants support DC fast charging and the batteries can be recharged from 10-80 percent in 32 minutes using a 170kW charger. The EQE SUV also gets AMG variants, likely to make their way to India post the standard model’s launch.
Interior and Safety Features

Other cabin highlights will include a Burmester sound system, a leather-free interior, and creature comforts such as powered front seats, four-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.
As for the usual safety which includes multiple airbags, the EQE SUV will feature a 360-degree camera, and ABS with EBD along with a host of driving assistance tech like lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and even parking assist.
