  • Citroen C3 EV will be the carmaker's first electric car for India.
  • Spy shots show its design will be almost identical to the ICE C3.
  • Likely to get more features over the petrol-powered C3.
  • Should boast a real world range of around 300 to 350km.
  • Prices likely to start at around Rs 10 lakh.

A spy shot of the Citroen C3 EV has surfaced online, giving us the closest and clearest look at the upcoming electric hatchback yet. The EV was seen topping up its battery at what looks like a fast charging station. Its official reveal is scheduled for December and its launch is expected shortly after.

The Citroen C3 EV looks almost the same as its ICE-powered sibling with plenty of bits inspired by the pre-facelift C5 Aircross. That said, the carmaker could implement minor changes to differentiate the EV from the ICE-powered hatchback. In fact, the charging port is in the front and not in the rear where you usually fill up the tank.

Inside, the hatch is expected to get a few additional features over the ICE model including automatic climate control, electrically operated ORVMs, rear washer and wiper and cruise control. Bits like the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the digital driver’s display will be retained.

Technical specifications haven’t been revealed yet, but the hatch will be based on the localised CMP platform that supports electric powertrain. We expect the C3 EV to get a single motor driving the front wheels and a battery pack supporting a real world range of around 300km to 350km. And as said above, the car was seen at a fast charging station and thus the battery will support brisk charging speeds.

One can expect the all-electric Citroen C3 to have a price tag of around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the Tigor EV and the upcoming Tiago EV
