As electric vehicles have evolved, so has their charging technology, as you can now even opt to have a wall box charger installed in your house. Well, how about an electric charger that can turn invisible? That’s what the folks at Anderson EV, a British electric charging company, have cooked up in the form of the Andersen-2-Invisible electric wall box charger.
So how does it camouflage itself? The answer is high definition 4K mini-screens embedded into the front and side panels of the charger that mimic the wall behind it. While Anderson EV already offers up to 96 colour options, you can have the charger mimic your house wall by simply taking a picture of the wall where you want to install the charger and uploading it on Andersen’s Konnect+ app before installation.
The camo is activated by selecting camouflage mode via the app. This wall box charger can even handle the classic British weather as it is covered in an IP65 rated film to handle rain, fleet and snow. The charger itself is capable of handling 7kW to 22kW charging capacity via a type-2 connector. Anderson EV is also offering over-the-air updates, so your charging experience could get better over time.
While Anderson EV’s latest contraption isn’t some game changer in electric charging technology, it offers a nice way to personalize your charging experience to the point it feels like a part of your home.
