BMW India has started accepting pre-launch bookings for its upcoming i5 EV. It will be introduced in its most powerful M60 XDrive avatar and will be brought in as a completely built unit (CBU), and hence will be limited to fewer units. This model will also mark the debut of the next-gen 5 Series in India, which will also get an ICE version later this year.
The i5 M60 XDrive will be the fifth EV in BMW’s lineup, further expanding its EV portfolio in the country. BMW already retails EVs like the BMW i7, BMW iX, BMW i4 and BMW iX1 in the Indian market.
The i5, in comparison to its ICE counterpart, looks more aggressive with EV-specific design cues and elements like the covered front grille, aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, and different LED signature elements. It will be feature-loaded, with technology packed up to the brim. You can take a closer look at the i5 in our unveiling story.
